Macy's Glamorama style guide

Macy's annual fashion extravaganza, Glamorama, will be held this Friday at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Minneapolis. The evening is one of the poshest fashion events that our fair city has to offer. You may be wondering, "What does one wear to such an event?". Never fear, we've got you covered. Follow the jump for a comprehensive style guide.

So, where in the world should you start? How about at a couple of the city's best designer resale shops.

June Resale (located at 3406 Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis) is a designer resale and consignment shop with a well curated selection of the highest of high-end designers such as Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and others, which makes it the perfect stop to find a glamorous outfit for Friday's event. Another great spot to stop for the perfect Glamorama outfit is GH2 in Northeast Minneapolis. GH2 is the little sister store to Edina's Grethen House. The store is also a designer consignment and resale shop with great avant-garde and hard-to-find pieces. The boutique is perfect when looking for a one-of-a-kind piece. Right now they have great new pieces by Issey Miyake, Commes des Garcons, and Yohji Yamamoto. Check out their blog for more info and photos of their great new items.

Also be sure to check out OPM Boutique. The shop is located in the Excelsior and Grand neighborhood and carries staple designers like Diane Von

Hopefully we given you a few ideas on where to shop for your Glamorama look. The party is at the Orpheum theater this Friday, August 6. The event starts at 8 p.m. and tickets run from $60 to $750 (ticket sales benefit the Children's Cancer Research Fund). Designers featured on the runway include Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Issey Miyake, Sonia Rykiel, SportMax, Versace for men, Just Cavalli, and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti. Macy Gray will be headlining what is sure to be one of the most exciting fashion events of the year.
