itemprop

Though 3D movies are all the rage right now, the Fitzgerald Theater may just have the most impressive 3D movie technology around for one of the most famous Christmas movies ever.

This weekend, Minnesota Public Radio and Stephanie Curtis will host an It's a Wonderful Life movie party which will include some very special effects to enhance two of the most well-known scenes in the movie.

MPR invites all of you buffalo gals and guys looking to lasso the moon to join in the fun for this family-friendly holiday party. The movie begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 19, but you'd be wise to show up early, so that you can grab a bag of complimentary popcorn and watch as organ master Mike Grandchamp plays pre-show music on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

Enhancing the action onscreen during the exhilarating Charleston dance contest scene will be live dancers who will take the stage as the movie plays. And for the grand finale, the classical music staff from Minnesota Public Radio will lead carolers and audience members in a round of holiday songs.

If you forget to arrive with bells on, don't fret. The folks at the theater will happily provide them, especially for the kids who attend, so they can ring the bells whenever they spot an angel.

Tickets for the It's A Wonderful Life Movie Party are $15. The party takes place at the Fitzgerald Theater, at 10 East Exchange Street in Saint Paul.
