Fans of Portlandia rejoice: This morning it was announced that Fred Armisen will be visiting the Twin Cities for a special advance screening of an episode at the Cedar Cultural Center.
[jump] While Portlandia takes place in Portland, Oregon, the scenes and personality types riffed on in the show are pretty recognizable to the Twin Cities scene as well. The program, now in its fourth season, stars SNL-alum Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney) in skits that poke fun at folks including hipsters, hippies, aging Gen-Xers, foodies, and cyclists.
The fourth season kicks off 9 p.m. Thursday, February 27. Armisen will be in Minneapolis for a preview screening of an upcoming episode on Tuesday, March 18. During the event, the actor will also partake in a Q&A session. So if you have any burning questions about the mayor of Portland, working with Eddie Vedder, or if the creator of Battlestar Galactica will be coming back, now's your chance to ask.
Tickets to the event go on sale this Friday.
