This week in free stuff to do we have lunchtime dance performances, free V-Day makeovers, a great reading event, and more. Come take a look.

Luncheon: A Midday Modern Dance Series

(City Center, 40 S. 7th St., Minneapolis)

Curated by Jaime Carrera, "Luncheon" will feature a variety of modern-dance performances in the Skyway each day throughout the week. Troupes scheduled to entertain include HIJACK, and Carrera will also be showing a new original work at the end of the week. Also at City Center will be Elixery, who will be hosting a pop-up shop boasting free makeovers and sampling events. 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Just in time for Black History Month, prolific, award-winning poet Kevin Young will be reading from some of his recent work and discussing his writing with host and novelist Alexs Pate. 7 p.m. Wednesday.
