This neighborhood gallery, housed in a private residence, returns this week with "Love American Style." The duo show features paintings and video by Clea Felien and David Pederson exploring contemporary issues including politics, foreign relations, and economics along with timeless topics such as the frailty of the human condition. Cockpit, one of their video shorts, was screened at the MoMA's One Minute Film Festival. Also on display will be a yard installation from Julia Helen Rice, pieces by Jamie Owens in the Leaky Sink Gallery, and treats from Laura Bigger's five-month outdoor residency, "Raspberry Patch
A Face Project Magazine Release Party

This Thursday, Fox Egg Studio and Gallery will host the launch party of A Face Project, a biannual magazine featuring storytelling from Twin Cities creatives. Participants include business owners, musicians, community activists, and all kinds of other personalities. Twin Cities Jazz Festival

For the next three days, Lowertown St. Paul will be offering a range of jazz in several locations, including Amsterdam Bar, Studio Z, and Black Dog. Participating musical talents include Jon Weber, Steve Pikal, Alicia Renee, Atlantis Quartet, Foreign Motion, Branford Marsalis, and others. Paper Hat is a locally owned shop that sells works by a variety of artists and crafters. Each month, the space features a local artist and throws a reception party in their honor. Thursday's celebration will showcase the mixed-media collages of Ashely Barlow, a local illustrator and design artist. You can stop by and check out her work while enjoying wine and snacks this Thursday. 6-9 p.m.
