Last spring, Fashion Week MN brought a slew of pop-up parties, runway happenings, trunk shows, and more to style-savvy folks. This September, the fashionable festival is back, led by fab event organizers Jahna Peloquin (style editor at Minnesota Monthly) and I am Mpls!/St. Paul! producer Sarah Edwards.
The complete schedule is up at Fashion Week's website, and appears to be filled with a nice mix of annual events and a few new shindigs.
Bi-annual MVP Envision, a glam runway party showcasing local designers, will be returning to Orchestra Hall to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Looks from Cliché, George Moskal, Joeleen Torvick, Kindred Folk, Kyra Deva, Raul Osorio, Xee Vang, and others will be hitting the catwalk, and some proceeds will benefit innovative gallery Public Functionary.
Full Fashion Panic, a wild party featuring looks inspired by Japanese animation and culture, is also returning. Other events teaming up with Fashion Week MN include the North Loop Fall Crawl, a special edition of the Minneapolis Craft Market, and the Ivey Awards, which highlights the best in the Twin Cities year in theater. I AM Inspired, organized by Edwards, will explore the overlap between art and fashion, and most likely will be a feel-good event.
Fashion Week MN takes place September 15-25. For a complete list of events, and to check out any late add-ons, visit the organization's website at fashionweekmn.com.
