Fashion Foreword: Rock these looks in the North Loop this weekend

itemprop

If you’re trying to get somewhere quickly over the weekend, we suggest you stay out of the North Loop, as it's about to be dominated by street festivals and block parties. If you love crowds and dressing for an occasion, however, then this is basically your Christmas. (If you hate those things, you might want to stay home and cue up Stranger Things on Netflix.)

North Loop Fest

Cuzzy's Bar and Grill
$18

So, what are you going to wear to this weekend of block parties? You don’t want to try too hard, but you never know when you’re going to get snapped for a style blog or Instagrammed by your BFF. That’s what Fashion Foreword is here for, of course. Take our advice and you’ll be golden for this weekend of celebrations.

To look modern and cool at Kraftskiva

(The Bachelor Farmer, 50 Second Ave. N., Minneapolis)

The Bachelor Farmer’s final Kraftskiva block party deserves a Swedish-inspired outfit (and not the fetish kind). Go modern and chic in a minimal dress like this one from Parc. It’ll keep you cool in hot, sticky crowds — just don’t spill crawfish juice on it! Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.

Wear something roomy and chill for Pizza Luce Block Party

(Pizza Luce, 119 N. Fourth St., Minneapolis)

Two words: pizza and beer. Two more words: maxi dress. Drinking makes you hungry, which means you’re going to be reaching at least one slice of Luce. It’s just science. This floral maxi from Primp will disguise any saucy stains. Saturday, noon to 10 p.m.

To pop by the North Loop Fest before a bachelorette party

(Cuzzy’s, 507 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis)

Hey, 'tis the season for attending countless bachelorette parties as well. You probably have some sort of weirdo wardrobe restriction set down as law by the bride, but then you may also want to stop by the North Loop Fest and look cute there, too. Show a little skin in a little black dress like this one from Proper (formerly Proper & Prim). It’s a look that is sexy without trying too hard, and you can chill it out with sandals and a hat or amp it up with heels and some slinky jewelry. Saturday, 3 to 10 p.m.

To dine and dance at Borough’s block party

(Borough, 730 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis)

We won’t judge you if you sneak away to order a Parlour burger. Keep your hands free for maximum eating and drinking with a cute crossbody bag. This fringed leather piece from Roe Wolfe is perfect to keep all your essentials at hand. Sunday, noon to 8 p.m.

To get arty at 15 Years of SooVAC

(Soo Visual Arts Center, 2909 Bryant Ave., Ste 101, Minneapolis)

Celebrate the 15th anniversary of this Minneapolis art institution in colors! Personally, we’d go vintage for this event, which automatically means a visit to Via’s. Sunday, 5 to 9 p.m.
