Ewan McGregor cast as lead in Fargo's third season

Obi-Wan Kenobi is coming to the Midwest. Emmy-winning show Fargo has begun casting its third season, starting with its leading man. This weekend, it was announced that Ewan McGregor has been signed to play two very different brothers living in Minnesota. This will be the actor's first venture into television.

McGregor will play the Stussy siblings. The older brother, Emmit, is a handsome real-estate mogul. The younger, Ray, is a bloated and bald parole officer who peaked in high school.

Details on the third season are sparse. We know, in the tradition of the past two seasons, that the cast will be completely new, though stories may intertwine here and there. While season two took place in the late '70s, season three is rumored to be set around 2010, four years after the turmoil of season one.

In the meantime, McGregor will be busy with the release of Trainspotting 2 (seriously, how are those dudes still alive?) and his directorial debut, American Pastoral, an adaptation of Philip Roth's award-winning novel.
