A documentary meant to raise awareness for spinal cord research starring outspoken Vikings punter Chris Kluwe premieres tonight at Brave New Workshop in downtown Minneapolis.
Created by Matthew Rodreick, the short film features Kluwe spending a full day in a wheelchair. Filmmakers followed Kluwe as he transferred from his bed to the chair, worked out at the Courage Center, and scrimmaged with a Quad Rugby team. Rodreick created the film to make people think more about the everyday life of a person with a spinal cord injury, he says.
Here's the trailer:
The movie's release comes a day after Sen. Jeff Hayden, DFL-Minneapolis, introduced a bill to appropriate $4 million a year toward curative spinal cord injury research.
For those who can't make it to Brave New Workshop, the video can also be watched streaming here beginning at 6:30 p.m.
