Diablo Cody to make directorial debut

Although this year saw the cancelation of Diablo Cody's award-winning show United States of Tara, the writer will soon have another feather to add to her cap as she is set to make her directorial debut in a Christmas-themed flick.

[jump] It sounds like she is looking forward to taking full reigns on the project. "If I hear a certain type of music for a scene, I don't have to shyly suggest it. I can use it. If I picture an actor in a role, I can offer them said role," she writes on her Tumblr. "I'm accustomed to riding shotgun...and for the first time, I get to be the Captain and Tennille. Holy shit."

Holy shit, indeed. Lamb of God follows a woman who loses her faith after a plane crash. She then rediscovers her religious beliefs through living it up and indulging in debauchery in Sin CIty, a.k.a. Las Vegas. Given her past efforts, which have contained a heaping spoonful of cynicism, the movie sounds downright uplifting.

Meanwhile, Cody's Young Adult, which filmed a few scenes in Minneapolis and stars Charlize Theron, is to be released later this year.
