Caterpillar Lounge returns, Saint Paul Winter Carnival: Freeloader Friday
This weekend the city of St. Paul is alive with all the happenings attached to the 125th Saint Paul Winter Carnival. There will be ice and snow sculptures, free ice skating, dance parties, sporting events, and other things to check out for the next 10 days. If you're set on staying in Minneapolis don't fret--there's still tons of things to do, from Attitude City at Clubhouse Jager, to the return of the Caterpiller Lounge, to free comedy, to CD-release shows.

This huge festival features sporting events, ice and snow sculpting competitions, family-friendly events, gallery shows, barhopping, and much more. Visit www.winter-carnival.com for a complete list of happenings. Through February 6. Many events free; some have cover charges.

The Romanian Revolution Project

This intriguing play exploring artists' responses to the Romanian Revolution of 1989 features no acting. Audiences will wander the halls of the building to construct a personal and unique experience. Get there early; crowds are capped at 30 to 36. Friday and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Winterfest mit Euro Dance Party

This daylong party features a bonfire outside from 3 to 7 p.m. that includes live music from Dale Dahmen and the Beats; draft beer, Glühwein (warm, spiced wine), and grilled bratwurst; performances by the Spielmannzug Tanzguard; games; Weiberfastnacht celebration; and prizes for the best old woman costume. The Euro Dance Party from 7 to midnight will feature old school Euro pop tunes with DJ Ben.
