Whether or not this weekend will be a respite from the bitter cold has yet to be seen. Regardless of the weather we get, there's still plenty of free things to do, including a lot of fun to be had outdoors.

Free activities this weekend include ice sculptures in Rice Park, sledding (with free food and drink) on the East Side, King Boreas's Grand Day Parade (2 p.m. Saturday from Smith to Rice Park), and a snow-plow competition in Rice Park.
