'Tis the season for countless versions of the holiday stories, movies, and plays we probably know all too well to pop up, from the Nutcracker to The Night Before Christmas. Take the classic Dickens favorite A Christmas Carol. It seems like everyone's done it at least once, even the Muppets, Jim Carrey, and The Flintstones.
If you are feeling weary from worn out versions you have seen a million times, and are not in the mood for the classic tale (or all the kiddos) at the Guthrie's production, then stop on over at ComedySportz where their carol is never the same twice.
An annual tradition and rumored holiday favorite, ComedySportz's A Christmas Carol: Unscripted & Uncensored is a completely improvised, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of performance.
With all the usual characters, Uncle Scrooge and the rest, the quick-witted and spontaneous crew at ComedySportz will retell the old story in a most unexpected way. Audience participation is part of the deal, so this is your chance to make the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future exactly what you've always hoped they would be.
The improvised Christmas adventure happens tonight at 8 p.m., and most Thursdays and Fridays until the end of December. Tickets are $12, and the show is recommended for those 18 years and older.
