Mock the Garden: A Celebration of Shit Culture

The Hexagon and Memory Lanes are coming together to host a three-stage festival featuring 27 acts from the local DIY scene and beyond. Brain Tumors vocalist (and City Pages contributor) Drew Ailes (pictured) and employees from both venues came together with the goal of raising funds to purchase a P.A. system and generator for use at underground venues and punk houses in Minneapolis. Nine local bands will perform alongside Providence, Rhode Island's Nightmom at the Hexagon, including local trio Waveless. Over on Memory Lanes' two stages, take in Michigan's Total Hipster Crusher, local goth outfit the Funeral and the Twilight, improvisational noise act Transitional Species, and the pervasive Ex Nuns. Since the benefit is free, enjoy some drinks and tip your bartender well while taking in the barrage of sound. (Photo by Adam DeGross)
