After packing the third-base side of Target Field last summer with fans of Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Soul Asylum, the Skyline Music Festival has expanded to two nights. For Friday's Indie Night, Andrew Bird (pictured) and the New Pornographers will serve as co-headliners. The San Francisco-based alt-folk outfit Thao & the Get Down Stay Down will join in the festivities, along with the hushed elegance of Bon Iver's drummer, S. Carey, and local electronic experimentalist Dosh, who regularly plays in Andrew Bird's band. Saturday's bill is led by multiple Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge. The night will also feature the jam stylings of O.A.R., as well as the Rembrandts (they did the Friends theme song) accompanied by Ryan Smith and Ron Caron of the Melismatics. Rounding out the lineup are a couple of classic Minnesota bands, the Gear Daddies (who also played at last year's Skyline Music Festival) and the Honeydogs.
Fridays, Saturdays, 4 p.m. Starts: Aug. 8. Continues through Aug. 9, 2014
