For many Minnesotans, heading up north or over to Wisconsin for a weekend at the cabin is an annual summertime tradition. The American Swedish Institute will be celebrating this phenomenon, which is also popular in Norway and Sweden, for its latest Cocktails at the Castle shindig, renamed Cocktails at the Cabin for one night. It might not be as strenuous as a hike through the hills, but revelers will be invited to stroll along the Turnblad Trail on a scavenger hunt. There will also be camping-themed treats like s'mores, and drinks from FIKA. The Textile Center and Weaver's Guild of Minnesota will host some fun crafts to partake in, and folks from Lumberjack Enterprises will be demonstrating their skills with logs and axes. Music will be provided by Martin Devaney and Aallotar. Be sure to wear some swimwear under your clothes, as Futures North will be bringing their TönöSauna, a mobile 1966 Avion travel trailer that has been converted into a wet/dry sauna. If you're biking to the event, check in your helmet at the designated station to receive $1 off drinks all night long. 21+.
