Last week, the Walker Art Center's Open Field hosted 100 choreographers dancing simultaneously. This Saturday, it will host an intriguing dance performance featuring three: Tara King, Theresa Madaus, and Monica Thomas of Mad King Thomas. "The Weather Is Always Perfect," the last planned show for the troupe until next summer, is a 30-minute collaboration with playwright Justin Maxwell (An Outopia for Pigeons). The piece is inspired by the real-life story of Violet Jessop, survivor of both the HMS Titanic and the HMS Brittanic, and explores topics including fate and preparedness. It will take place in the Sculpture Garden on the rusted hull of a ship (a.k.a. Mark di Suvero's Arikidea). Audience participation should be anticipated, and flashlights are highly recommended.
