One of the world's richest design museums, in terms of collections, is tucked away on the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus and is always coming up with innovative ways to engage new audiences with its objects. For its latest event, the Goldstein Museum of Design has turned to the movie American Hustle for inspiration. The museum has freed some fantastic 1970s fashion from storage, and is pairing the platform shoes and jersey dresses with single-malt scotch whiskys. Brant Foehl, Laphroaig's protector of the peat, will pour five Laphroaig drams, and tasters will drink in the presence of the museum's blast-from-the-past fashions in McNeal Hall. Reservations are required for the event, which has limited space. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 612.624.7434 for more information.
