The all-in-the-family L.A. trio Haim covered glossy magazines before they even released an album. When the 44 minutes of pop-rock power moves Days Are Gone actually arrived, the hype was warranted. There's no Diet Dr. Luke production or anything, no cheapskate swipes at stardom, and yet it sounds like the Haim sisters — Este, Danielle, and Alana, each older and wiser than they seem — have learned from Lady Gaga and Tom Petty in equal measure. It might have taken months to get these songs down in the studio, assisted by producers James Ford (Arctic Monkeys) and Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend). The key to it all, though, is that they flow so naturally they could've been written in 15 minutes apiece. Haim's live show is marked by their three-way vocal exchanges and, more than anything, the fascinating contortions of Este's "bass face." With Denver lovebirds Tennis. 18+.
