Animal Lover have been blowing out basement windows around the Twin Cities and Fargo area for a few years now, but thanks to a spike in public demand for their Amphetamine Reptile-inspired heaviness they're moving above ground. Chalk that up to their particular take on the noise-punk territory, which combines the usual guitar pyrotechnics of the genre with grooving basslines reminiscent of Fugazi and occasional flashes of stomping garage riffage. Their new EP, titled Guilt and out on local punk label Learning Curve records, solidifies their monstrous sound while dipping its toe into longer, epic instrumental workouts. Opening are St. Paul noise kings STNNNG, along with Solid Attitude and Lex Deux Magots.
