Four Humors Theater has never been shy about taking on oddball topics and challenges. At last year's Minnesota Fringe Festival, they produced a hit with a three-actor version of Stanley Kubrick's Lolita. A few years back, they tackled the Romantic poets via a string of rock 'n' roll epics in The Age of Wordsworth. This summer's offering for the Cincinnati Fringe Festival is the intriguingly titled The Unauthorized Autobiography of Benny Hill. With that in mind, a farcical comedy about the failed mission of the Soviet Soyuz 1 isn't that far off the mark. Like last year's Lolita, a tiny cast (four actors this time out) takes on dozens of roles in the fast-paced comedy set at a secret training facility in the heart of Kazakhstan. Four Humors' Nick Ryan wrote the piece, while Jason Ballweber takes the directing reigns. The company includes Andy Kraft, Brant Miller (who played the title character in Lolita), Matt Spring, and Keely Wolter.
