While some cyclists are total badasses, willing to pedal through the elements all year long, the majority of us have been anxiously waiting for the snow to melt so that we can break out our bike shorts and hit the road. This Sunday marks the beginning of Minneapolis Bike Week, put on by the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition. Whether you're a serious bike enthusiast, a casual cruiser, or a family of tiny tricyclers, everyone is invited to participate in the fun. Free events take place all over the city, including a Cinco de Mayo cycle celebration (with free tamales!), Nice Ride Day when riders can try out our bike-share program for free, the Bike to a Local Business Block Party day, and much more. All of these events are open to the public, just so long as you can get your legs moving. For a complete list of happenings and locations, visit mplsbike.org.
