Looking to start a new project? Whether you need a pattern, yarn, equipment, or all of the above, you should be able to find exactly what you need at this huge event at the U of M's ReUse Program Warehouse. On sale will be community-donated items such as sewing machines, looms, textiles, books, and more, all piled high in a mind-boggling quantity. The gathering, which has attracted over 1,000 crafters in previous years, kicks off on Friday with a special preview sale. So if you're looking for something specific, this may be the best route to go as you'll have first dibs on shopping. Saturday's event may be a better fit for more casual visitors. Come after 3 p.m. for the best deals, as everything you can fit in a brown paper bag will cost a total of $2 (and anything that doesn't fit will be 50 percent off). Proceeds raised through the sale will benefit local nonprofits. For more info, visit www.textilecentermn.org/garagesale.
