No one works on cardboard like David Lefkowitz. No one elevates the mundane to the ethereal like Zelda Zinn. Both open shows on Friday in which transformation — whether via drawing, assemblage, or photography — brings aesthetic enlightenment. For "Austerity Plans," Lefkowitz has created finely wrought and shaded structures on cardboard, in which architecture and infrastructure mysteriously merge. In "Suspension and Belief," Zinn has manipulated plastic into floating pillows and shredded paper into totems through her photographic lens, producing images in which physics and light make their mark as well. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 5. (Pictured: David Lefkowitz, Housing Block with Poplars)
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: April 5. Continues through May 18, 2014
