In public opinion polls, the color blue often comes out on top as people's favorite color. It's a color that shows up in nature, in iconic clothing items such as jeans, and in many famous pieces of artwork. Picasso had a blue period. Yves Klein even created his own hue of blue (International Klein Blue). For the Traffic Zone Center's latest show, "Blue," painters Jim Dryden, Jil Evans, Patrick Kemal Pryor, and Jodi Reeb will employ the color as their muse. Each artist works in an abstract style, though the titles of each piece — Blue Horizon, Breaking Light, Blue Wave — give strong clues to understanding each artist's point of inspiration. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 15. (Pictured: Work by Patrick Kemal Pryor)
Mondays-Fridays. Starts: March 17. Continues through April 25, 2014
