Now in its eighth year, the Skyway Open turns Minneapolis's elevated tunnels into a mini-golf course for three days. This year's theme, Minneapolis Neighborhoods: Putt the City, will invite architects, designers, and students to create holes that draw inspiration from the many communities of the city, from the North Loop to Kingfield. The 18-hole course will be bigger than ever, as it winds through City Center, Gaviidae, the IDS Center, and Fifty South Sixth. Folks who play on opening day Friday will be treated to the 19th Hole Celebration afterparty at Basil's Restaurant, where revelers will find entertainment, food, and drink. Activities on Saturday are especially family friendly, with cookie decorating, face painting, additional games, and mascots. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club.
