Matisse: Masterworks from the Baltimore Museum of Art

With Minnesota in the middle of its gray months, who wouldn't appreciate a little color? Folks who visit the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' latest exhibition, featuring pieces spanning 60 years of work from prolific and influential Henri Matisse, will be treated to bursts of bright red, warm oranges, golden yellows, and crisp blues. The French artist is mostly known for his paintings, though he was also a talented sculptor and print artist. At the museum, guests will be able to view around 80 works in various mediums. Items showcased include portraits, landscapes, odalisques, and his book, Jazz. Related happenings, such as a variety of lectures, family events, and a Third Thursday party, are also scheduled. Check online for a complete list of happenings. (Henri Matisse, Striped Robe)
