It has been nearly 11 years since the world lost the Clash's Joe Strummer. Here in Minnesota, we keep Strummer's restless spirit alive with a semi-annual night dedicated to his lasting memory. Turning Rebellion into Money: A Tribute To Joe Strummer assembles local artists to raise funds for Free Arts Minnesota, who nurture at-risk children with the redeeming powers of artistic expression. The performers range from post-punks BNLX to rap experimenter Greg Grease. The rest of the lineup includes Andrew Broder, Al Church, Gabriel Douglas with Silverback Colony, James Diers and Jake Hanson, RuDe GiRL, Two Harbors, WILD!!wing, and the 9/16s supergroup (featuring members of the Cloak Ox, Andrew Bird's band, the Honeydogs, Sensational Joint Chiefs, the Witnesses, and more). 18+.
