For many, the holiday season is about spending time with loved ones. At this Saturday's Kwanzaa Family Day at the Minnesota History Center, you can do just that while honoring African American culture and community. Kwanzaa is the seven-day celebration of the Seven Principles: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Once again, this year's festivities at the museum will showcase live music and performance, including African dance, drumming, and storytelling. Folks will also be encouraged to try foods at cooking demonstrations, partake in art activities, and check out traditional fashion on models.
