Who says you have to ring in the New Year at midnight? If you have kids, or are the type who can barely stay awake past 9 o'clock, then partying into the wee hours of the morning just isn't going to happen. However, that doesn't mean that you can't have fun this holiday. Thankfully, the folks at Comedy Suitcase are of the same mind, and will be ringing in 2014 two times well before bedtime. The family-friendly event will entertain kids and grownups alike with dance numbers, funny skits, and other shenanigans with hosts Joshua English Scrimshaw and Levi Weinhagen and friends. Expect hilarity, New Year's countdowns, men in diapers, and delightful child labor from Aaron and Miriam English Scrimshaw and Andrew Moy and Irene Weinhagen. Later in the evening, Joshua will be joined by his brother Joseph for their raucous annual Year in Denial, where grownups can ring in the New Year with standup, skits, and improv with special guests Eric Webster and Shanan Custer. $12-$14; $20 later shows. 5 and 6:30 p.m. for the kids; 9 and 11 p.m. for the Scrimshaw Brothers.
Tue., Dec. 31, 5, 6:30, 9 & 11 p.m., 2013
