This Halloween, the American Swedish Institute will host a special edition of its Cocktails at the Castle series as the museum is transformed into the nine worlds of Norse mythology. Visitors will get a glimpse of the underworld (Niflheim), which is ruled by the goddess Hel, and the high heavens (Gimle) with giants, gods, and goddesses. Along the way there will be activities such as mask making, a silent dance party with music by Negative, and Swedish horror flicks presented by the Film Society of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The evening also includes food and specialty cocktails by FIKA, and experts from the Twin Cities Paranormal Society will be on hand to share the secrets of the historic Turnblad Mansion. Nathan Lewis and Lacey Prpic Hedtke will tell ghost stories and more in the Divination Room, and live music will be provided by Crimes and Strange Names and Into the Void Records. Costumes are encouraged, of course. 21+.
