Armed only with an acoustic guitar and his rough-textured, blues-tinged voice, Chris Cornell is likely to attract as much acclaim on his second solo Songbook tour as he did for the 2011 installment. Among rock's signature instruments, Cornell's voice, along with surprisingly deep lyrics, is the focus of a career that's included grunge pioneers Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and solo projects. Along with covers that could come from the likes of Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Creedence, and Zeppelin (plus tunes from last year's Soundgarden reunion album, King Animal), Cornell redefines each as a folky meditation, gnarled ballad, or still-muscular anthem, never quite shedding their rock tendrils but revealing myriad fresh dimensions. Americana singer-songwriter Bhi Bhiman opens.
