Ticky, tacky, sticky caramel coats the entire fall season, when butter and sugar are melted and toasted into luscious strands of gooey, sweet goodness. This Saturday, St. Croix Chocolate Co. will celebrate all the lovable things about the confection with its annual Caramelpalooza. No one does sweet small bites like the chocolatiers behind this company (there's a reason they won Best Chocolate 2013). Their labors result in edible works of art that delight the eye as well as the taste buds. Speaking of taste buds, ready yourself for fall favorites like caramel-coated apples, caramel sauces, caramel corn mixed with bacon, and more. As with years past, there will be free, family-friendly entertainment, including music from vocalist Karen Paurus, ragtime music man Dan Wascoe, Fat Chance Jug Band, the St. Paul Kazoo Band, and CaramElvis (thank you, thank you very much). Join head chocolatier Robyn Dochterman as she leads a guided tasting tour of her sweets. That's not all the entertainment, though. There will also be scarecrow making, face painting, and a petting zoo.
