Miranda Lambert is more Johnny than June. She sings about guns, whiskey, cigarettes, and the benefits of each. First gaining recognition on the reality show Nashville Star, Lambert has since released four albums, each better than the last. She's very much a product of the Nashville assembly line — much of her vengeful material comes from professional songwriting teams — but few country stars have the 31-year-old's charisma and vocal precision. If you're reluctant to dive headlong into the honky-tonk, start with 2011's "Fine Tune" or her explosive cover of John Prine's "That's the Way That the World Goes Round." With Dierks Bentley.
