What do we want? Beer! Where do we want it? Here! Lucky for us, Oktoberfest has arrived. The folks at New Bohemia Wurst + Bierhause in Nordeast are ready to kick up their heels, slap some knees, and toss back a few brews. This is their first foray into Oktoberfest, but with a name like that it's got to be good. All weekend long there will be music, games, lederhosen, plenty of beer, and the best of their wurst. In honor of the event, New Bohemia will select the Lord Mayor of New Bohemia, who will receive the honor of tapping the first keg on Friday at 5 p.m. to kick off the party. The setup will mimic the tents of Munich. Ten breweries will be pouring 20 varieties of beer, including samples from Bad Weather, Lucid, and Third Street. For those attendees who would like to sample a little bit of everything, a beer taster's passport costs $40 (in addition to basic admission to the event) and includes a souvenir beer mug, an Oktoberfest T-shirt, and unlimited beer tasting at the event. The sausage selection will include traditional bratwurst as well as some made with rattlesnake, rabbit, and alligator meat. Pair them with an enormous soft pretzel, roasted corn, and Bavarian desserts. Entertainment will include live bands, mug-hoisting competitions, keg bowling, and lederhosen-wearing and wurst-eating contests. Admission is just $3, and that money will be donated to Jared Allen's Home for Wounded Warriors.
