The fact that fans can't agree which Animal Collective album is the best is a testament to the Baltimore group's growth. Last year's Centipede Hz is their most aggressive work, but it still contains their psychedelic, disorienting hallmarks. The outright pop moves of 2009 single "My Girls" now feels like an anomaly, albeit one that they could remake over and over again if they weren't so wonderfully adventurous. Live, they reveal that each tunnel is connected with jammy interludes tying hooks together like acid-soaked tendons. With White Magic and Matthew St-Germain. 18+.
