Third Thursday: On-a-Stick

The Great Minnesota Get-Together is just around the corner. For those jonesing to get their State Fair game on early, there's Minneapolis Institute of Arts' annual fair-themed Third Thursday: On-a-Stick, where the fun will happen outdoors in the Target Garden. Fans of the Princess Kay of the Milky Way butter sculptures will want to check out the work of artist Bill Skodji, who will be creating Picasso's Baboon and Young from the delicious — and artery-blocking — dairy substance. Revelers will be able to snack on fair-themed food items from AZ Canteen and Lulu's Street Food trucks, with plenty of beer flowing from Summit. Live music will be provided by hip-hop artists Sean Anonymous and Dream Crusher, as the Current's David Campbell emcees. Also on hand will be Warby Parker's Class Trip, a traveling school bus that has been fashioned into an old-school professor's office (think leather chairs, books, and chalkboards).
Thu., Aug. 15, 6-9 p.m., 2013
