Of all the Open Streets events scheduled this summer, none seems more natural (and less disruptive to car traffic) than this weekend's closing of Minnehaha Avenue. Here, the bike- and pedestrian-friendly road will become even more so, as it will be closed to motorized traffic. As usual, there will be a slew of activities to enjoy, including bike polo demonstrations, live music outside the Dairy Queen, a pop-up playground for kids, a farmers' market, and skateboarding lessons. Grab a snack, get a massage, or bring a camera and play some photo bingo. For a complete list of happenings, check out openstreetsmpls.com. Minnehaha Avenue, from East Lake Street to Godfrey Parkway, Minneapolis.
