Folks who love outdoor art fairs should be in heaven this weekend, as three huge ones – Uptown Art Fair, Loring Park Art Festival, and Powderhorn Art Fair – are taking place in Minneapolis. The Loring Park Art Fair is in a lovely setting, and is a short walk to downtown venues if you want to make it a day-into-evening activity. Here, over 140 artists will be highlighted, and the walking paths and ponds are equally pleasing to the eye. New this year will be Open Air Quick Draw, where guests can watch artists create pieces over a period of two hours. Live entertainment and the Pianos on Parade (artist-decorated pianos that anyone is invited to sit down at and play) will also be at the festival. Looking to attend via bus? Visit MetroTransit's website to print out a free pass that works for rides on Saturday and Sunday. Uptown Art Fair's (Hennepin Avenue from 28th to 31st) hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. More info can be found at uptownartfair.com. Powderhorn Park (3400 15th Ave. S., Minneapolis) and Loring Park's (1382 Willow St., Minneapolis) hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
