Rumor has it that this group exhibition of eight artists currently completing their MFAs at the U of M includes a 1976 AMC Pacer in which fungi are flourishing at a healthy rate. That would be Kate Casanova's contribution, she of the mysterious, surreal investigations into the uncanny by juxtaposing the organic and inorganic in marvelous ways. Ceramics, painting, photography, and video are also present in the show, including Ben Moren's Walking Cycle, which takes viewers on a cinematic adventure through the landscape. Laura Bigger's intricate prints, Maggie Finlayson's visceral sculptures, and Rachel Longstreet's conceptual paintings form part of the pyramid, along with works by Daniel Dean, Jess Hirsch, and Stefanie Motta. There will be a public program at 5:30 p.m. in the InFlux Space of the Regis Center for Art, followed by a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 12. (Kate Casanova, Victorian Mushroom Chair)
