This Thursday, humanitarian/architect Peter Williams will explore how housing impacts health, especially in emerging cities in poorer nations across the world. "Housing can be a major vehicle for curbing the risk of contracting diseases and therefore the mortality for some of the poorest people on our planet," says Williams in a recent interview with Ensia. "But the extent to which we can render this effective is the extent to which we can, I would argue, move away from this notion of looking at the issues in silos." The lecture, which will be the final talk in the season for the Ensia Live series, will explore innovative ways architecture can be beneficial to human health and environmentally sustainable. The evening will also feature a presentation by visual artist Gregory Euclide, whose paintings and sculptural pieces often speak to precarious interactions between nature and pollution, and music from S.
