Bill Burr

Onstage, Bill Burr seems like an angry guy. He rants, complains, and speaks his mind with absolutely no regard for what others think about him. But offstage, his life couldn't be better. "I've got a nice little life; it's fucking great. I spent 20 years in clubs, now I'm doing two nights in a theater. I've got a cult following, but I can still walk down the street. My career is fucking perfect." If you're a comedy fan, chances are you've heard Burr's name more and more over the past few years, as he has steadily established himself as a comic's comic. Between releasing his most recent special, You People Are All the Same, this past fall, hosting his own successful podcast, and serving as a henchman on Breaking Bad, Burr has upped his exposure with fans, but insists he isn't feeling the crunch. "I'm always getting ready for something, but I don't feel pressure to do anything. I'm still the same guy; I'm not changing my sound for anything. Remember when Garth Brooks did that thing where he grew a goatee and started singing falsetto? It really pissed everyone off. I'm not trying to be Garth Brooks, except for the goatee part, I guess. Whatever, don't listen to me. I'm a cranky old man." Maybe his stage persona isn't entirely wrong. (Photo by Koury Angelo)
