The City of St. Paul starting celebrating at noon. Meanwhile, Minneapolis is getting the party started a little later in the day with its Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade, starting at 6:30 p.m. (www.mplsstpats.org). This march will start at 11th Street, traveling up Nicollet Mall until it hits Fifth Street. Here, you can watch from the sidewalk, or from a nearby bar. Special happenings will be taking place at the Local, Kieran's Irish Pub, Brit's, and others. If you plan to celebrate into the wee hours of the morning, be sure to plan safe transportation. Metro Transit will be offering free rides on all buses, as well as the Northstar commuter train starting at 6 p.m. However, buses won't stop if they're at maximum capacity (more info at www.MillerLiteFreeRides.com).
