Homewood Studios' latest show features work from Neal Cuthbert, a local artist who has been creating pieces for decades. The exhibition title, "The Mess of It: Crows, Crosses, and Detritus," gives strong hints as to what to expect, though folks familiar with Cuthbert's art should already recognize these ongoing themes. "Following 'Some Crows' in 2011, my first show in a very long time, I began rummaging through old notebooks, looking at themes and ideas running through my work for decades and wondering, 'Am I done with crows?'" The artist recently mused. The answer remains to be determined. Crows will be aplenty in this exhibition, however, which features black-and-white pen and ink drawings of crows on telephone wires or simply scattered about on a page. Guests can also expect to see some brightly colored crosses, and other creative diversions from the artist. There will be a public reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 8, and an artist's talk at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.
