Pink Floyd are a band we'll never get to see again in its most-renowned lineup; even if Roger Waters and David Gilmour buried the hatchet, the 2008 passing of keyboardist Richard Wright leaves them without a vital characteristic player in their ranks. That's opened the door for a wave of Pink Floyd tribute acts, and they've got their work cut out for them. It's almost daunting enough for any band to merely replicate the sound of the Floyd -- a band that, more than any rock act of the '70s, successfully split the difference between conceptual spectacle and populist appeal. To replicate their full concert experience -- one that typically required intricate props, innovative projections and 50,000-seat stadiums to have its full effect -- should be even more difficult to pull off. But the Pink Floyd Experience have been up to the task for nearly twenty years. While they've scaled down their inspirations' arena-rock visuals to fit inside a club space, they do so without losing any of the impact in translation, and their recreations of Pink Floyd's music are faithful enough to do their renowned body of work justice. This tour promises both greatest hits and rarities -- expect the likes of "Money" and "Another Brick in the Wall, Part II," but keep your fingers crossed for deep cuts like "The Narrow Way" and "The Nile Song".
