"I want to be 80," say comedian Tom Segura. "I think I'm perfect for that: staying home, wearing sweaters, being antisocial." The comedian, who released his latest CD, White Girls with Corn Rows, last fall, has been busy pitching projects in Hollywood, touring the country with his standup, and doing a weekly podcast called Your Mom's House with his wife and fellow comic, Christina Pazsitsky. "It's been huge for us," he reports. "I wish we could do an episode more than once a week." The show is actually helping both get folks to their respective live performances (they tour separately). "The fans are super supportive of the show. I say it's definitely getting 100 to 200 more people a week to my shows." Dedicated Your Mom's House listeners have even been known to bring gifts. "Not high-ticket items," Segura laughs, "but really creative stuff. They'll say, 'A few months ago you talked about this, so I made you this.'" The show's success likely stems from the fact that husband and wife really enjoy working together. "We talk about whatever we want. It's silly, loose, and that's just what we want it to be." Being married to someone who is also a standup might seem like it would present some challenges, but Segura says that's not the case. Sure, they'll notice odd stuff at the same time but "once someone makes a joke about it, it's their joke. We're not like, 'I was going to say that!'" 18+.
