After a week of glam parties and runway strutting, Minneapolis-St. Paul Fashion Week is set to end with a bang. The Shows, produced by MNFashion, are two evenings featuring work by some of the Twin Cities' hottest designers. Hitting the catwalk Thursday will be the feminine and sultry threads of Gina Marie Vintage, the bold and theatrical stylings of Nicole Larson, the flirty and fun pieces of Max Lohrbach, the colorful and playful fashions of Kjurek, and the insanely creative looks of Ivan Idland. Friday's party won't be short on local talent either, with Mary Pranica, who was featured in last fall's Emerging Designer Showcase; TIM + THOM, twin brothers whose boutique, YOU + ME, is a hit on Lyndale Avenue; Samantha Rei, whose Blasphemina's Closet offers Lolita looks and high-end fashion dresses; Caroline Hayden, who specializes in elegant gowns; and Christopher Straub, who has branched out into accessory designs — including killer purses — since his stint on Project Runway.
