"Venus and Adonis is my first (maybe my last, who knows) venture into video, dance, and music," writes Myron Johnson on his blog, Myron's Corner. "I am loving the possibilities of juxtapositions, dream-like landscapes, and film movement with and against the choreography. It is really going to be a trip!" This weekend, the tireless choreographer and artistic director of Ballet of the Dolls, along with his anything-goes dancers, will dip into Shakespeare's poem based on passages from Ovid's Metamorphoses, giving the kaleidoscopic work on love a multimedia treatment. "We are only taking our first step into dream/dance/theater," Johnson writes. "I am excited." (Photo by Maggie FitzGibbon)
