A love so deep it goes straight through to your bones: Gastro Non Grata is back with a bloody Valentine for food lovers who like their affairs anything but vanilla. The edibles will come from Borough chefs Nick O'Leary and Tyler Shipton (the press is already swooning over their new North Loop restaurant). Tonight, you'll be able to skip the reservation wait and get a little taste of what they're up to, as they will be serving a few creative small plates. As always, the savory dishes will be paired with some serious beer, as Founders Brewery will be sharing samples. Event organizers are also teasing that we may get to sip on alcoholic treats from Jesse Held, City Pages Best Bartender 2012. Lovers will be able to snuggle to the dulcet tunes of Martin Devaney, then Southside Desire will funk it up before Bitch City brings it home. Between sets, enjoy jams spun by DJ Shannon Blowtorch. As with every evening spent in Gastro Non Grata company, there will also be a Dead Meat door prize. So, ladies, heed our advice: When planning your evening's accessories, be absolutely certain that your handbag has room to fit a big, raw beef heart. Love might not be pretty or convenient, but it sure is a tasty, hard-rocking ride. 18+.
