More About

Like all cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul are constantly evolving. Some shifts are subtle, while others bring about fast and dramatic transformations. The latter will most likely be the case when the Central Corridor Light Rail Line is complete. Construction has already brought about major change, as some bars and restaurants along the route have closed, and neighbors have voiced concerns. However, eventually new businesses will spring up, and lives will move on. For the AZ Gallery's latest show, the Minnesota Historical Society will showcase images from past years taken near the planned St. Paul leg of the route, so folks can examine how the city and its residents have adapted to urban projects over the decades. Twenty members of the Twin Cities Photography Group have snapped shots of the stores, people, and homes near the nine St. Paul stops, creating a virtual tour of the new line. With the past and present accounted for, this exhibition should spark interesting debate as to what the future will bring. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 8.
